Journalists treated me as a failure - Messi
The former Barca star is upset with the behavior of journalists.
superstar Lionel Messi claimed that a section of journalists considered his performances in the national team as a failure.
Messi won the 2021 Copa America in Brazil. This was Lionel Messi's first title for the Argentine national team, and he had already lost three finals. Many believed that Messi never felt for Argentina shirt and that the results of this team were not important to him. Now Messi gave the answer to these journalists.
He told
Mundo Deportivo: “When we won, I couldn’t believe it. I’d dreamed of it so much that I didn’t even understand what was happening. I honestly enjoy it more now when I see the footage, at the time I was paralysed.
“There was a section of journalists that treated me as a failure, claiming that I didn’t feel the shirt. We must start by recognising that we’re not the best in the world. We weren’t the worst in the world before, and now we’re not the best.”
