Leicester City win Community Shield with Iheanacho’s late penalty

Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho confidently scored from the spot in the final minutes of their 1-0 victory against Premier League champions Manchester City.

Last season's Premier League champions and FA Cup winners locked horns on Saturday evening in the Community Shield.

While the game was heading to the penalty shootout,

Iheanacho

sent the ball to the top corner with a minute remaining after being tripped by

Nathan Ake

.

Iheanacho came off the bench in the 79th minute and was brought down by Nathan Ake in the closing minutes.

The Nigerian international, who scored 19 goals for the Foxes last term, calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper

Zack Steffen

from the spot to give the FA Cup winners the victory.

FA Cup winners have now won this prize on six of the last seven occasions against Premier League winners.
