Roma is interested in signing Alex Telles

Roma wants to sign Manchester United’s defender to replace Spinazzola.

Roma

has been looking to find a replacement for

Leonardo Spinazzola

, who picked an injury in the Euro 2020, and now the club has shown interest in signing

Manchester United’s

defender

Alex Telles

who joined the Red Devils from Porto last summer.

Manchester United signed Alex Telles to have an option to use instead of Luke Shaw, who had been away from his best form in the previous season, but his performance got better with the Brazil international’s arrival keeping Telles from making more than eight appearances for the club.

Roma boss Jose Mourinho, who is Manchester United’s former manager, says that Spinazzola, who was named in the Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament, will be sidelined for a few months due to a ruptured Achilles.

"We all feel sorry about the loss of Spinazzola for a few months but that is football and we have to be ready to start next week,"

he said on Instagram at the start of July.

Telles has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2024 with the option for a one-year extension, but considering Luke Shaw’s impressive performance in the Euro 2020, the club may be considering making money from selling the 28-year-old defender.
