Ramos: It's a dream to win my fifth Champions League with PSG

The Spanish defender believes PSG have enough quality to win their maiden Champions League trophy.

Sergio Ramos

joined

PSG

as a free agent after spending 16 years at Real Madrid. The experienced midfielder was signed as part of PSG’s efforts to create a squad that would be able to achieve European glory for the French side. Mauricio Pochettino’s team were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City last season, but Ramos says the Parisians don’t have to wait for too long to win their first-ever Champions League title.

"What I noticed the most about this club is its strength,”

he told

PSG TV

.

“The thirst for winning that the players have. They want to come to a club like this.

“They have already played in the Champions League final, they are very close to being able to win it and that is something that attracts me. It can only be a perfect marriage.

“If I can contribute to it, that would be wonderful for me. It is a dream to think about win my fifth Champions League and the first for our club.”

Having failed to continue their domestic dominance last season, PSG seem determined to improve their squad ahead of their next campaign. In addition to Ramos, the French giants have secured the signing of

Achraf Hakimi

from Inter with a €60 million deal.

Georginio Wijnaldum

and

Gianluigi Donnarumma

are also set to join PSG as free agents ahead of the next season, while they are among the few clubs that are able to afford a move for Lionel Messi this summer.
