Federico Chiesa dedicates Man of the Match award to Spinazzola
Italy striker Federico Chiesa dedicated his Man of the Match award to Leonardo Spinazzola after Italy beat Spain in the penalty shootout to reach Euro 2020 final.

had given Italy the lead in the 60th minute of the match. Twenty minutes later,
Alvaro Morata
scored the equalizer for Spain and took the game into extra time.
Both teams could not find the winner during 30 minutes of extra time and a penalty shootout was needed to get a finalist.
The Azzurri kept their nerve from the penalty spot to beat Spain 4-2 in a shootoutand set up the final against either
England
or
Denmark
.
“It was a very tough game, Spain are a top team, but we’ve proved to be a strong group,”
Chiesa told Sky
Sport Italia.
Spinazzola suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the quarter-finals against
Belgium
and will be out of action for six months.
“I dedicate the MVP award to Leonardo Spinazzola, and the win too. He would have helped us tonight, but these things can happen in football, we hope we can give him satisfaction in the Final.”
“There are a few days to recover now, but we’ve played every three games this season, so we are ready, we’ll have enough time to recover,”
