Busquets talks about MLS transfer talks and Messi’s situation at Barca

The Spain international insisted that he is focusing on his life at Camp Nou notwithstanding the summer transfer being brought up.

Sergio Busquets

admitted that he has got no offers to depart

Barcelona

for MLS and is more interested in playing alongside

Lionel Messi

for the next campaign.

Many players of the Blaugrana have gone out the exit door as the club is aiming to generate funds and meet with the La Liga rules.

The 32-year-old’s contract will expire in 2023 and speculations have raised surrounding a move being mooted for the World Cup winner to the United States.

Busquets, who is on international duty with Spain, admitted that he has yet to receive offers, telling El Partidazo de Cope when quizzed on the MLS rumours:

"I have a valid contract and I am very comfortable at the club."

While the Spanish midfielder has a contract until 2023, one of Barca’s academy graduates has seen his contract reach its end.

Argentina international Messi, who has spent almost entire his career with the Blaugrana, has hit free agency.

The two parties are negotiating a stay for the six-time Ballon d’Or winner, with Barcelona sorting out their problems of the salary cap.

He added:

"I trust the president and Leo's feeling.

"I wish him the best and I hope we can continue playing together for years."

A number of star players at Camp Nou are facing uncertainty regarding their future.

Ronald Koeman

will reign for another year and Busquets is delighted to see his manager staying on.

"The project needed stability and time, last year he did a good job.

"I'm sure it will go well."
