Real Madrid keen to sign Leicester's Fofana as Ramos replacement

Real Madrid are hoping to surprise the transfer market by supplanting exodus captain Sergio Ramos in the coming weeks from the Premier League.

After turning down the option to extend his contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos legend Ramos has revealed he will leave the Spanish capital at the end of June.

After Ramos' departure, the team is low on defensive alternatives for the 2021/22 season, and new manager

Carlo Ancelotti

is on the lookout for a successor.

The 20-year-old

Wesley Fofana

of Leicester City has emerged as a potential replacement for the experienced Spanish international, according to the

Daily Star

.

Fofana has made an impression in his first season in England, appearing in 28

Premier League

games for Brendan Rodgers' team in the previous 12 months.

Due to his significance to Leicester, the Foxes are expected to ask for over €40 million for the French U21 international this summer.
