With this victory, Sweden temporarily climbed to the top of the table.

Sweden

managed to defeat

Slovakia

with a 1-0 in their second step at Euro 2020.

The Swedish national team played against Spain in their first match at Euro 2020 and managed to draw 0-0 with a great defensive display. On the other hand, Slovakia had gone against Poland in their first match and was able to defeat this team with a result of 2-1.

The two teams met at the St. Petersburg Stadium, and in the first half, both did not create much of a chance on each other's goal by presenting a defensive game. The most serious situation in the first half belonged to Slovakia, where Marek Hamsik's shot went just wide of the Swedish goal, and it seemed that something special would be needed to unlock the goal.

But Sweden started the second half with an attack and could have scored in the first 15 minutes, but Slovakia's good defense and Forsberg's bad luck prevented the Swedes from scoring. The Swedish pressure continued until in the 77th minute they finally got a penalty kick which Forsberg managed to convert into a goal.

After the winning goal, the Swedish attacks continued, and in the end, they were able to gain three points in the game with a single goal by Forsberg, and they are currently leading their group with 4 points.

With this result, it became difficult for Spain and Poland, and if the two teams can not win tonight's match, their path to the next round will be difficult. Spain, who drew in the first match against Sweden, has an important match against Poland tonight, and winning this match will be crucial for them.
