Eric Garcia linked with a move to Barcelona
Manchester City’s defender seems to be close to his former club Barcelona.
The reports suggest that

is joining the
Catalans, where he started his football. Garcia moved away from Nou Camp and joined the Citizens back in 2017 after coming up from La Masia and now seems to be heading home again.
The Citizens’ defender insists that moving to Barcelona will be a big move for him and will not be free of risks, but he seems to be pretty sure about his decision.
“Going back to Barcelona is a brave bet,”
Garcia himself said. City contest the Champions League final this evening, against Chelsea.
“I’ve thought about my future, what I think is the best [thing to do] and I’m convinced it’s the step I’ve taken.”
The defender has been compared to Barcelona’s high-profile defender
Gerard Pique
, and he is happy to be compared with the experienced defender saying that the only difference between them is that he has been lucky to be able to play for Manchester’s better team.
“Gerard has achieved everything, he’s one of the best centre-backs in the world,”
he said when asked about the link
. “The only possible comparison is this; we’re both from La Masia and we lived in Manchester, but he went to a not-so-good team. I’ve had more luck and have been able to play for the best team in Manchester, a pity for him.”
