Martinez: I’m open to all directions regarding my future

The Spanish midfielder will leave Bayern Munich after nine years in the summer.

’s contract at Allianz Arena will be expired in June. The Spaniard is set to leave the German champions as a free agent in the summer but it is not clear where he will continue his career. The 32-year old, who is one of the most decorated players in the history of the club, says he is yet to decide about his future.

"I'm open to all directions and am looking for the best option for myself,"

"I don't know yet, I will make this decision at home in Ayegui this summer.

"First I will concentrate on the last two games and my farewell."

Asked how long he wants to continue his career at the highest level, Martinez added: "

My legs decide. One year, three, 10? Take a look. But I also want to be physically well after my career is over."

Martinez became the most expensive signing in

Bayern

's history when he was transferred from

Athletic Bilbao

with a €40 million deal back in 2012. The Spaniard has featured in 266 matches for Bayern, winning 22 trophies in total with the Bavarians.
