Konate agrees terms with Liverpool ahead of a summer move

As the long-time favorites to win the race for RB Leipzig’s centre-back, TalkSPORT reports that Liverpool have gotten closer to purchase the defender’s signature as the 21-year-old French defender has reportedly has agreed on personal terms with the Premier League giants.

The Reds had a disappointing title-defending season mainly due to the injury crisis they had at the heart of their defense. with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez having missed the majority of the season, Jurgen Klopp first was forced to use his midfielders, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson as centre-backs. then signed Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke and Ben Davies from Preston in the January transfer market.

Although the Reds have the option to make Kabak’s loan move permanent for a fee of £18m, they have set their eyes on RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate who will be available for a fee of around £30.5 due to a release clause in his Leipzig contract.

Now with the player agreeing on personal terms with the club, Jurgen Klopp can depend on a huge potential at the heart of his defensive line for the next season.
