Hierro wants to see ‘exemplary’ Ramos end his career at Real Madrid
The Blancos legend says the veteran defender is a crucial player for both Real Madrid and Spain.

has been linked with a move away from
Real Madridin recent weeks. The 34-year-old is spending the last months of his current contract at Santiago Bernabeu and he is yet to sign a new deal with the Spanish side. Being a key player in the Blancos’ most successful periods, Ramos is a popular figure among the clubs’ fans.
Fernando Hierro
has urged Real Madrid to extend Ramos’ contract as he still considers the Spaniard as an important player in Real Madrid’s backline.
"I would like him to continue. For all that he is and what he represents. Let his sports career end here,"
Hierro told
Goal.com.
He added:
"As a Madrid player and as captain of the national team he contributes a lot," he added. "He has a leadership quality that is very necessary in any team.
"This is a very special year for him. He is a boy who transmits a lot and all good. He is exemplary, and he is going to be a very important player in the next European Championship."
Ramos has struggled with multiple injuries in the current season. The player has not played for
Zinedine Zidane
’s team since mid-March. However, he is expected to make his comeback in Real Madrid’s crucial battle against
Chelseain the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday.
