Van der Vaart warns Kane against joining Real Madrid

The former Tottenham star believes the striker would be more successful if he decides to continue his football in England.

Harry Kane

has been heavily linked with a move away from the

Spurs

as his future at the north London club remains unclear.

Manchester United

and

Real Madrid

are reportedly interested in a summer move for the England international who has been tipped to leave the club to fulfill his trophy ambitions. Having seen many English players struggle at Santiago Bernabeu,

Rafael van der Vaart

believes the 27-year old must continue his career in England.

"He is now the best striker after [Robert] Lewandowski, and he is the man at Tottenham,"

Van der Vaart told

Ziggo Sport

.

"It may sound crazy, but you would almost say go to Manchester United or something, stay in England.

"Usually, it's not such a success when an English player goes to Madrid."
