Liverpool clash will be a demanding one - Zidane

The 2018 final will be repeated this time in the quarterfinals.

Real Madrid

coach Zinedine Zidane has claimed that his team has a difficult task ahead of them in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, despite Liverpool's not-so-good situation.

Real Madrid will face Liverpool  in the last 8 stage, the team that they faced in the final in 2018 and managed to defeat them 3-1 and become European champions. The following year, Liverpool won the European Championship, but this season, Klopp's side have not performed well and are not experiencing good conditions. Zidane now claims that regardless of Liverpool's form, they know they will have a difficult task ahead.

"We know the difficulties of a game against Liverpool," the Frenchman said.

"We cannot say that it is a bad draw or that it is a good draw. Liverpool are a team that, in a tie, can play their ace at any given moment. But that is the same as us.

"It will be a good match between two teams that have won many Champions League trophies between them. At this level, it is always very difficult to win."

Real Madrid, who won La Liga last season, have not performed well in the competition this season and are currently third in the table, lower than Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
