Arsenal plan to reward Martin Odegaard with a permanent deal

The Los Blancos loanee has proven to be a great investment for Mikel Arteta’s side and recent reports suggest that he will soon be switching to a permanent deal with the Gunners.

According to the

Daily Mail

,

Arsenal

hope to extend

Martin Odegaard

’s stay with a permanent deal following his arrival at Emirates Stadium in January.

The

Real Madrid

loanee, who joined the Gunners on a season-long loan, has proven to be key player on Mikel Arteta’s squad, and recent reports suggest that the Spanish boss hopes to see the Norwegian stay at least for another year.

Though Los Blancos may refuse to part ways with Odegaard, Arsenal are still open to negotiate over extending his loan stay if they fail to secure the 22-year-old’s permanent move.

Arsenal currently sit 10th in the

Premier League

table with 10 points adrift from a top-four finish, but their hope of qualifying to the Europa League continue to stay alive following their win over

Tottenham

.

If the Gunners fail to earn a spot in one of the future European competitions, Odegaard is very likely to cut his stay short, but the Premier League side believe with Real Madrid’s attempts to sign

Erling Haaland

and

Kylian Mbappe

, raising funds through selling the player could still work to Arsenal’s advantage.

Yet, if Real Madrid decide to put the youngster for sale, Arsenal would not be the only side wishing to sign Odegaard.
