'King Kenny' turned 70 today and his last collaboration with

ended about nine years ago, when he was Liverpool manager for the second spell.

During his 44 years with Liverpool, Dalglish experienced many things with the club and won many championships with the team. He is known as one of Liverpool's greatest legends, and now Ian Rush has praised him and their days together.

“It was a beautiful partnership and I would have to say that he made things very easy for me on that pitch, something to this day he knows I will always remind him of,”

Rush told PA Media.

“I have so much respect and admiration for Kenny not just because of the insatiable instinct he had to deliver on the pitch, but the style in which he did it, such passion and pride.

“I am glad that in a way we have still a great partnership at Liverpool and the banter still continues today.

“He has done so much for this club it would be hard to start listing things. But he has done extraordinary things for the game in general, for football, for the fans.

“What can I say, he is one of the greatest of all time.”
