Odegaard to return to Madrid this summer
Despite Arsenal’s interest in making the Norwegian’s loan deal permanent, Real Madrid see him as a key fixture in their long-term plans and are reluctant to let him join the Gunners permanently.

Odegaard
has only made seven La Liga appearances for
Zinedine Zidane’s
side, the Los Blancos are hoping to have him back for the next season as the decision on his loan departure was purely so the youngster could get more first-team minutes under his belt.
However, already an important member of
Arteta’s
squad,
Odegaard
refused to rule out a permanent move to
Arsenal
talking to Norwegian station,
TV2, earlier this month.
“You never know what happens, but first of all my focus is about the rest of the season
," he said.
"Hopefully help the team, and then we'll see what happens."
