Real Madrid keen on signing with Aymeric Laporte in the summer
Real Madrid are eyeing the Manchester City centre-back for a potential move.
Aymeric Laporte
has been among the starting XI in
Manchester City’s 3-0 win over
Tottenhamon Saturday, which saw
Pep Guardiola
’s side sit 10 points clear, leading the
Premier Leaguetable.
However, the France international has climbed down the pecking order at Etihad, with
John Stone
placed as the favored player.
The 26-year-old has featured in eight games in the Premier League, and seven of them were from the start.
Laporte has a three-and-a-half-year left on his contract and the reports suggest that
Real Madridmay test City’s determination by putting an offer on the former Athletic Bilbao player when the season ends.
Sergio Ramos
may depart Real Madrid as his contract is due to expire on June 30, with no agreements on a renewal contract. Manchester United and PSG are both interested in acquiring the Spain international’s services. Should the 34-year-old leave the Santiago Bernabeu, Zinedine Zidane’s side will have to look for a replacement.
It is speculated that City are asking for offers that are close to £57m, which is the amount they paid to sign Laporte in 2018. Although City have many wealthy owners in football, they have to reach a balance in their books to meet the standards of the Premier League and UEFA.
