Barcelona have to wait until summer for the Premier League duo

Due to the club’s financial crisis following the Covid-19 pandemic, Barcelona’s manager, Ronald Koeman, has admitted that the club will not be able to pay any fees for players this month.

The Catalan giants have been linked with a move for

Manchester

City’s

Eric

García

and Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum

since the summer, but they might have to wait further as the Blaugrana is in no position to sign the duo this month.

Rejecting a new contract back in August,

Eric Garcia made

his senior debut in a Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Leicester in December 2018, but the La Masia graduate has only played 10 Premier League matches for

Pep Guardiola’s

side and has been tipped to return to his boyhood club since summer.

The La Liga club have also shown their interest in

Wijnaldum

, who has been a key component of the Reds’ recent domestic and continental triumphs. The midfielder has the experience of playing under

Koeman

for the Dutch national team and will be a free agent this summer.
