Luis Enrique admires Barcelona star Pedri
La Roja coach, Luis Enrique has spoken of his admiration and made it clear that Pedri is very much front and center in the thinking of the Spanish national team.
Speaking at half-time in
Barcelona
and Real Sociedad match, in the first semi-final of the Supercopa de Espana,
Luis Enrique
informed that the superstar is near getting a call-up to the senior team.
“We have not summoned him but he’s a regular of the U21 and he’s in the setup,”
Luis Enrique
announced.
The coach rejected that he wouldn’t bring Pedri up to let him play in the future U21 European Championship.
“I have total preference,”
he mentioned.
“I’ll select the players who deserve it, Pedri or any other player could [join us] between now and March. Pedri is a player most of us like.”
La Roja
have a triple-header of World Cup qualifiers in March. They play Greece at home before traveling to Georgia and continue with another home match with Kosovo.
They also have to check and ;ook forward to the European Championships, tied against Sweden, Poland, and Slovakia in Group E.
