Benzema’s lawyer on his client’s recent blackmailing accusations
Los Blancos player is expected to be brought into the court after he was accused of being involved in blackmailing a fellow countryman.

Karim Benzema, was called to court after he was accused of blackmailing his former international teammate,
Mathieu Valbuena, over a sex-tape back in 2015. Benzema’s lawyer, Sylvain Cormier, commented on the alleged accusations, saying:
“The decision to bring him to trial is an absurd and unfair cruelty.”
“Benzema has nothing to reproach himself with in this summary.”
It is believed that Benzema acted as an intermediary between Valbuena and the blackmailers and tried to force Valbuena to pay the money but he refused. Following this event, Benzema was ruled out of
France’s squad.
Though the 33-year-old attempted to avoid the court by claiming that those evidences against him were collected illegally, the Supreme Court in France rejected his appeal.
