‘Cagliari can’t get depressed, we must unite’ – Simeone

on Sunday and admitted that his side expected a ‘struggle’ in case they didn’t perform well.

“

We had a strong team in front of us, with great quality in all departments,

” he said. “

It wasn’t the performance we wanted, we tried to press hard right away, but they put their characteristics on the pitch and were in charge.

“When you face such good opponents, you will struggle if you aren’t perfect. We’re sorry and I think the only recipe right now is to work and find out what we are missing.”

Cagliari striker Simeone insists that his side has no time for looking at the table and should unite to get past the current struggle after having had their eighth consecutive winless run.

We have to recover our path quickly, we have been trying for a long time, but things are not going the right way,

” he added.

We can’t get depressed; it’s a mental issue and we must come out of it working as a team and thinking about what’s wrong.

“You have to be compact, mean, decisive and attentive to every detail. This is not the time to look at the standings.

“It’s important to stand united and analyse the mistakes, knowing that we have the qualities to do much better.”
