Lawrenson considers Manchester title contenders

The former Liverpool defender believes that Manchester City and Manchester United can be the most probable rivals for the team.

are the most probable teams to run Liverpool close in the league.

Manchester United that jumped down to the bottom half at the beginning of the League, went up and set itself among the top three teams In the league's table to wash away the early disappointment.

Now, Lawrenson considers both teams as mighty title contenders mostly because of their form.

Manchester City is now down in eighth place of the table and will get 5 points if the team beats their upcoming game.

"Along with Manchester City, United seem the most likely team to me to run Liverpool close,"

Lawrenson said.

After a slow start to the season, they have just started to get it together.

"United will be a threat to Liverpool, and Manchester City will be there or thereabouts too.

"They have got too much quality not to be."

However, Liverpool is now among the top teams on the table.

Losing

Virgil van Dijak

and

Joe Gomez

due to injury, has not affected their playing as they have now lost a game after that.

Liverpool and Manchester United face off at Anfield on January 17. Their second match this season can set the title contender.
