Enrique wants Spain to play at Camp Nou

Spain’s manager has responded to Juan Laporta’s comment that the national team not playing matches at the Camp Nou.

Laporta

, former Parliament of Catalonia’s member, is among the frontrunners for

Barcelona’s

presidency with a tendency to the independence of

Catalonia

.

Laporta who was the club’s manager between 2003 and 2010, told the reporters earlier this week:

“Luis Rubiales, president of the RFEF, is an intelligent person who knows that the best thing for the national team is to play where they have more support, such as Seville, Valencia, Madrid…and perhaps here is not the most appropriate place.

“For the Spanish team not to play at the Camp Nou is the best decision because the situation does not meet the most positive conditions for them to do so.”

The Spanish National team boss,

Luis Enrique

, has responded to Laporta’s comments recently in an interview.

“I have no problem playing anywhere. I am sure that in Barcelona there are many people who want to see the national team.”

The Camp Nou is the biggest stadium in Spain which has not hosted the national team since 1969. Catalonia is striving for an independence vote for a long time.
