Tears of joy for San Marino defender

San Marino defender Dante Rossi shed some tears of joy after the second consecutive draw.

San Marino

is one of the smallest and least populated countries in the world surrounded by Italy in Southern Europe.

had not been able get to two consecutive points in the history of the team, until last night.

San Marino drew 0-0 at

Gibraltar

at home in the

UEFA Nations League

after a 0-0 draw with

Liechtenstein

, achieving their second consecutive point for the first time in history. This success is an important achievement for a team whose players are mostly amateurs.

After the draw with Gibraltar, San Marino defender

Dante Rossi

told reporters while he was emotional and in tears:

“For me it's really a dream, I can't talk much.

“My family is happy, my wife too. I want to say thank you to my team-mates and all the staff. We hope to stay here for a long time.

"I dedicate this draw to the whole country. We are a small country but we have a big heart.

“To my family, my wife and all my friends, I apologize."
