Known as a match-winner, Ings is one of the best Premier League strikers right now, and his fine performance did not go unnoticed by Liverpool, who signed him in 2015. But in his very first training session under Jurgen Klopp, he was ruled out for the remainder of the season due to suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee.
After nine months he returned, but due to the Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Roberto Firmino trio, Ings featured in the starting XI. In 2019, he joined Southampton for a reported fee of £18 million. Coventry Citystriker against Queens Park Rangers. He established himself in the starting line-up at the start of the 2013–14 season, and after just 11 league games, the English striker had netted ten times, finishing the season as League One's third-top scorer with 22 goals. A series of Wilson's stunning performances earned him the title of League One Player of the month award for March.
