advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over Wales, while the Czech Republic advanced to the final eight of Euro 2020 with a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands.

Czech Republic vs Denmark match preview

We have already witnessed the elimination of Switzerland and

Belgium

and of course the glorious ascension of Italy and Spain, two super teams which always had a chance of acquiring the cup. Today the Czech Republic will face Denmark.

This is a hard challenge but what would come next for the winner could be even harder or maybe impossible.

In this article, we are aiming to provide you with the latest information on team lineups as well as their head-to-head match details of the history.

Form analysis

How did the teams reach this stage? What hardships did they have to withstand? Let us find out now.

Denmark

Denmark, on the other hand, qualified for Euro 2020's last-16 stage by placing second behind Belgium in Group B, despite losing two of their three games in the group.

On June 12, the Danes lost their first encounter 1-0 to Finland, however, it was an exceptionally difficult match for Kasper Hjulmand's team, as

Christian Eriksen

collapsed on the pitch.

Denmark then lost their second group match to Belgium on June 17, putting them in a precarious position. However, a 4-1 win over Russia four days later was enough for them to finish second in the section on goal difference, with Finland and Russia both exiting the competition despite claiming three points from three matches.

Czech Republic

Czech Republic got off to a fantastic start in Group D, winning 2-0 against Scotland on June 14 and earning a point against Croatia four days later, putting them in a strong position in the group.

However, Jaroslav Silhavy's team fell 1-0 to England in their last group encounter on June 22, dropping them to third place behind Croatia, with the Netherlands as their round of 16 opponents.

Holland would have been confident heading into the match in Budapest, but the Czech Republic put up an outstanding performance, with Tomas Holes scoring in the 68th minute and Patrik Schick scored his fourth goal of the tournament to all but seal the victory.

The Czech Republic vs Denmark – head-to-head in all competitions

The Czech Republic and Denmark have faced each other a total of 11 times. The result is almost in Czech Republic’s favor as they have won one more match than Denmark making it 3 wins out of 11.

Denmark has won 2 and 6 of the 11 games have ended in a tie. Their first match was on August 19, 1998, an international friendly Czech Republic managed to score one goal and win the game.

Line-ups and formation

Now, let us go through the possible lineups of both teams as well as information about the players.

Denmark

Denmark's head coach, Hjulmand, will have to make some tough decisions, as Yussuf Poulsen, Daniel Wass, and Simon Kjaer are all likely to be available for the tournament after some fitness issues.

Poulsen and Wass both missed the Wales match due to injury, while Kjaer was forced to come out in the second half, but the trio should be fit for the quarter final.

Wass and Kjaer are expected to start again, but Poulsen may have to make do with a bench position after Martin Braithwaite,

Dolberg

, and Mikkel Damsgaard impressed as the front three last time out.

Meanwhile, there are unlikely to be any shocks in the center of the park, with Thomas Delaney poised to line up alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg once again.

  • Denmark probable lineup:

Schmeichel; Kjaer, Christensen, Vestergaard; Hojbjerg, Wass, Delaney, Maehle; Braithwaite, Dolberg, Damsgaard

Czech Republic

Jan Boril has returned to the Czech Republic after serving a ban, and it would not be surprising to see the 30-year-old restore his starting spot tonight.

In the middle of the field, Tomas Soucek and Holes are certainties, while Schick, who has four goals in this summer's competition, will lead the Czechs' attack.

However, Silhavy will have to make some judgments elsewhere, as Vladimir Darida and Jakub Jankto were selected on the bench against the Netherlands, while Antonin Barak and Petr Sevcik were given starts.

Due to their performances in the round of 16, both Barak and Sevcik are anticipated to preserve their starting XI lineup, with Lukas Masopust projected to play in a variety of positions.

Czech Republic probable lineup:

Vaclik; Coufal, Celustka, Kalas, Boril; Holes, Soucek; Masopust, Barak, Sevcik;

Schick

Prediction

Based on Denmark’s performance in the last games and their will to win and make Eriksen’s dreams come true, they would probably have the upper hand in the match and would defeat their opponent by scoring one goal in the late game.

That is our prediction, needless to say, that it is only a guess and the truth may be quite different from the reality. Czech Republic’s chances are pretty high but They are not as ready as Danish are for the Cup.
