Lucas Torreira confirms he leaves Atletico in the summer
The Uruguayan midfielder will return to Arsenal after spending a season at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Atletico Madridlast summer. The Uruguayan spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Atletico Madrid, but his stay at the Spanish capital will come to an end in the summer. The 25-year-old featured in 19 league games for
Diego Simeone
’s side, including only three starts. The player posted a photo of the Rojiblancos’ title celebration on his
Twitter accounton Monday.
“The best from start to finish,”
Torreira wrote.
“Thank you very much FAMILIA del Atlético for everything. It has been a real pride to wear this beautiful shirt. Atletico Madrid, everybody.”
According to
Diario AS, Torreira will return to Arsenal in the summer. The midfielder has two years left on his contract. However, he is reportedly linked with a move to South America following the death of his mother. Torreira’s price is estimated to be around £12m and the Gunners are interested in selling him to raise funds for the upcoming transfer window.
