Gerard Pique could be out for “four or five months” - Ronald Koeman

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman was quoted by Marca telling Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lecescu that Gerard Pique could be out for “four or five months”.

They were talking before their Champions League match in Ukraine, in which

Barcelona

won 4-0. Pique was out injured during Barca’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid last weekend, but there’s been no official statement as to how much time the Barsa defender will be out.

I watched the [Atletico] game,

Lecescu

said. “

You played well in the first half, your football was very good

.”

They defend very well,

Koeman

responded. “

They are very strong in defence.

But you had chances to score,

” said

Lecescu.

Yes, yes,

Koeman

replied. “

We are having bad luck with injuries."

Ansu Fati is going to be out for three months, Pique may be out for four or five months, Sergi Roberto is going to be out for two months."

But, you know, you have the same problems. It’s crazy

.”

Besides their problems,

Barcelona

managed to create a remarkable second-half performance to put aside their hosts and make way to the knockout stages of the Champions League having two spare games.

Sergino Dest netted his first goal for the club, Martin Braithwaite seized a great opportunity and Antoine Griezmann scored an awesome finish in injury time.
