Perrie Edwards' Childhood  

Edwards was born in South Shields, England in a small family.

She went to Radipole Primary School, Weymouth before she moved back to South Shields. She graduated from St. Peter and Paul RC Primary School while staying there and then moved to Mortimer Community College for higher education.

She stayed in South Shields for five years and was excellent in both performing arts and academics. She then went off to study in Newcastle College and got a BTEC degree in Performing Arts.

Her mother, Debbie, later married to Mark Duffie and Perrie is also close to her stepfather. Perrie’s father also remarried to Joanna Wells and she has a half-sister named Caitlin Edwards.

Not many of her fans know this, but Perrie suffers from a condition called Esophageal Atresia that is responsible for the bisectional mark on her tummy, while she also suffers from anosmia.

However, finally she revealed that she’s undergone surgery on her throat, after years of dealing with problems with her oesophagus. It was last year when the 29 year old singer made the announcement about her surgery.

The funny thing is that she wrote about her surgery while she was having her favorite chocolate dessert at her favorite restaurant after going under the surgery earlier that week. She shared a make-up-free Instagram snap in London and captioned it: “Only I would have an operation then ask to be taken to the ivy for my favourite chocolate bomb dessert!

My oesophagus can’t come between me and my love of food. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

. The couple later got engaged in August 2013 but broke up in August 2015.

On August 18, 2013, after spending a weekend together, Zayn proposed to Perrie and within the next three days, the singers announced that they were engaged. Zayn gifted her a three-diamond ring.

However, on August 4, 2015, reports stated that the couple had ended her engagement.

Edwards was left 'Homeless' after leaving Zayn 

It is somehow strange to know that the Little Mix singer had nowhere to go after the end of her four-year relationship with Zayn.

In fact, Little Mix's star has revealed that she was left homeless following her split from her former fiancé Zayn Malik.

Writing in Little Mix's new book Our World, Perrie said that after being dumped by Zayn via text message she was left with “nowhere to go”.

Musical Career

Perrie started her career by performing at school singing shows but never thought of herself as a great singer.

Eight years back, in 2011 Edwards auditioned as a solo artist on 'The X Factor' with the song 'You Oughta Know' by Alanis Morissette.

She was rejected in that audition, but that was just the beginning as she was put together with Jesy Nelson, who was also rejected in the same audition. Together, they created a group named “Faux Pas”.

At this time, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall was a part of group called “Orion”. They were all rejected candidates to came together to create the “Rhythmix” group.

However, later they had to change their name due to a children's music charity having the same name. Therefore, they changed their name to “Little Mix” and rose to be one of the most competitive girl groups to win The X Factor title.

After the win, the group released their first album named “DNA” in 2012. It was in the third position under UK Albums Charts and one of the top five in USA as well.
