Known as Victoria Beckham, Victoria Caroline Beckham was born on 17 April 1974 in England in a five-member family.
She is best known as a member of “Spice Girls” pop group and also a fashion designer.
The 46-year-old got married to famous football star, David Beckham in 1999 and the couple is one of the most beloved and famous ones since. In our article today, we are going to take a closer look at her life.

Early life and childhood
Born on April 17, 1974, Victoria Adams was born in Hertfordshire, England and was raised in a rich family. Being very young, she started studying ballet and pursued her interest in dance at the Laine Arts Theatre College in Surrey when she was 17. When she moved to London, she tried to make it as a dancer and she had the chance when she answered a casting call seeking energetic and hard-working female performers in 1993. As a result, out of the 400 women, Beckham was chosen to become part of a new all-female pop music group.
The dream of being famous
Not all the famous people have had the dream of being famous, but Victoria Beckham is one of the ones who wanted it since she was a little girl. In 1982, Victoria's mother took her daughters to watch the film Fame and that was what changed her life, as she has said that she decided to be like Coco who perfectly danced, looked gorgeous even with wild fizzy hair and sang fantastically well.
She was fat!

Surprisingly, being fat was not the famous star only problem as has suffered from severe acne for most of her life and even now, she has to find solutions for the problem. The 46-year-old has claimed that she had to apply a lot of makeup to cover her face as a teenager before she went to school, but her teacher made Victoria wash her makeup off daily.

Victoria doesn’t have the same number of tattoos as her husband but she has two tattoos dedicated to David. The first tattoo is David’s name initials, which she has hacked on her left wrist and the other one is a star, which is hacked on her lower back.
Jobs
Like many other famous people, Victoria started her career with several other jobs. In fact, she has the experience of working as a promo model for a national newspaper Daily Mirror in her resume. She has also worked at a perfume counter at a big department store.
Music career
Her music career also started with a different kind of experience. Victoria became a member of a band called “Persuasion” in the beginning, which consisted of 3 persons, including two boys and Victoria. This is while Vicotoria’s main music group, Spice Girls, was an all-girl music group. The most memorable song from Persuasion is "Be the One". Their band sang songs in different disco clubs. But how did she find her way into Spice girls? This is what we call destiny. In fact, in her Persuasion days, one day Victoria found out a small ad for another group and that’s where her journey started.
Spice Girls
Eventually, our famous star joined the all-female group, Spice Girls, in 1993-94.
We all know that today she in known as Victoria Beckham, while it is good to know that before her marriage, she was credited with her maiden name as Victoria Adams in the recordings.
The five hot Spice Girls released their first single, "Wannabe" in 1996. The five members were Victoria Adams (Beckham), Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm.
The group’s first album was released also in 1996 and was named “Spice”. It was a real success and could sell more than 20 million copies around the world. We all have some memories with it… Don’t you?
Ok but what do we know about the group generally? Who was their producer and when did they start their work?
First you need to know that Spice Girls was created by manager Chris Herbert and their final lineup came together by mid-1993. The final members were Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham, whom at that time was known as Victoria Adams. However, they didn’t continue their career with Herbert as they wanted to have more control and be more creative. After breaking off with Herbert, they started to work with manager Brian Fuller and signed a new contract with Virgin Records.
What made their group more famous, was that they were different from the other groups at that time. In fact, interestingly, each of the five stars came up with a different persona of their own. Melanie Brown was "Scary Spice", Melanie Chisholm was "Sporty Spice", Geri Halliwell was "Ginger Spice", Emma Bunton was "Baby Spice", and Victoria was "Posh Spice”. A name she kept for the rest of her life. After their first album, Spice, in 1996, they continued going up the latter of success with their follow-up single, "Say You'll Be There". It is interesting to know that the song climbed as high as No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. Lovely! Huh? Just 3 years of work and this much improvement! Anyway, by that time they had lots of fans and their "girl power" message attracted a substantial audience, especially young teenage girls.
Now it was time for them to release their second album which they did in 1997 and they called it Spiceworld. To make it more exciting for their fans, they starred in a film of the same name early the following year. Richard E Grant, Elvis Costello, Bob Geldof and Elton John were some other names who took part in the movie. Overall, it has to be mentioned that the movie achieved some success in the box office, netting close to $30 million.
Three years later and in 2000 the Spice Girls released their 3rd album, named “Forever”. However, this one was their only album without Geri Halliwell, as she had left the group by that time.
It also has to be mentioned that she later rejoined the group for their Greatest Hits album in 2007.
Anyway, after Forever all the other members started drifting apart and that was when Beckham went solo, releasing a self-titled album in 2001.
Spice Girls Reunion
As we have mentioned before, the Spice Girls came on stage together after seven years for a series of concerts in 2007 and 2008. In June 2012, they reunited again, and this time announced the creation of a new musical about their rise and fall, Viva Forever! They also performed at the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games, held in London in that year.
Just six years later, whispers of another reunion started swirling around in February 2018, when the Spice Girls met with former manager Simon Fuller in London and just one week later, TMZ reported that a summer tour was indeed in the works.
Finally, the reunion tour commenced on 24 May 2019 in Dublin, Ireland and ended on 15 June 2019 in London, England. What was different with this event, was that the group went on stage without victoria as she decided not to join them.
Being asked about the reason, she told Vogue Germany that it took a lot of courage not to participate in the tour.
"It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says, ‘You know, I’m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to,'" she said. "I’d rather concentrate on my family and my company."
Fashion designing
Victoria found out about her taste of fashion not long after Spice girls drifted apart. She developed a line of jeans called VB Rocks for the Rock & Republic brand in 2004 and then two years later shared her fashion tips in the book “That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between.”
Just one year later and in 2007, David’s love of life launched her own line of sunglasses called dVb Eyewear, and not much later a line of jeans.
She expanded her clothing line in 2008, introducing a new line of dresses.
Modeling experience
We have mentioned that before becoming a Spice Girls’ star, Victoria had different jobs including modeling but was it all? Not of course! In 2009, Beckham became the model for the Emporio Armani underwear line for women. This is while David Beckham had previously been featured in ads for their men's line. Acting career
Spiceworld was not Victoria’s only experience of acting as in July 2007, it was announced that she was going to star as herself in an episode of the second season of ABC's TV series Ugly Betty. The episode, "A Nice Day for a Posh Wedding", aired on 9 November 2007 in the United States and on 23 November in the United Kingdom.
Bend It Like Beckham was her other experienced which was filmed in 2002.
She also has taken part in different documentaries including “The Real Beckhams”, which was made in 2003, Being Victoria Beckham (2002), and the six-episode Victoria Beckham: Coming to America (2007), all of which were based on various aspects of her work and family life.

Her husband is famous David Beckham who was born on 2 May 1975 and started playing football by joining Ridgeway Rovers in 1985. Since joining Manchester at the age of 17, he has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team and he is known as one of the best football players of the century. However, football is not everything he is famous for, as his good looks have been considered by many people and many know him as one of the hottest men on the planet. In 2015 he was named as People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive."

The Love Story
Dubbed by media as Posh & Becks, David started dating Victoria back in 1997, after she attended a Manchester United match. As they both were stars and enormously famous, the news of their relationship instantly attracted media’s attention and went on top of the news and they started to be referred as "Posh and Becks". Anyway David proposed to Victoria on 24 January 1998 in a restaurant in Cheshunt, England and they married on 4 July 1999 at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland.
Her Wedding
The big wedding cost £628,000 as Victoria wore a diamond-encrusted crown, and Beckham wore an ivory suit. Interestingly, there were no sign of media at the ceremony as they were kept away. You ask why? Because the couple had a deal to sell the pictures to OK! magazine for £1.73m! However, newspapers were still able to obtain photographs showing them sitting on golden thrones.
Beckham's teammate Gary Neville was the best man, and the couple's infant son, Brooklyn, was the ring bearer.
Her children
David and Victoria have four children: Their first son, Brooklyn Joseph was born on 4 March 1999 in London, just couple of months before their wedding. Romeo James was born three years later on 1 September 2002 at Portland Hospital and then three years later Cruz David came to the world on 20 February 2005 in Madrid. Victoria was the winner of Glamour Woman of the Year Award in 2007 and 2015. Talking in her speech after winning the award she said, "It started with the Spice Girls and girl power”. "I want to make a woman feel like the best version of herself", and she definitely is doing so for many.

The story of kidnaps and death threats
2000 was a stressful year for Victoria and her family. Not only the Spice Girls were about to go on their own ways, but in January, a tip-off to Scotland Yard detectives exposed a plot to kidnap Victoria and their son, Brooklyn and hold them at a house in Hampstead, London. However, that was not all as later in March, she received a death threat just before performing at the Brit Awards with the Spice Girls, and in the show's rehearsal, a red laser light appeared on her chest. In November 2002, five people were arrested after another plot for her kidnap. However, all charges were dropped after a witness was deemed unreliable.
