Arteta calls Arsenal goal hero Martinelli a ‘delight’

Gabriel Martinelli proves to be the decider once again as the Brazilian scored a 3-point goal at King Power stadium

After being threatened by new signing Trossard to be benched,

Gabriel Martinelli

has come back strong, scoring in consecutive games for Arsenal. The Brazilian combined with Trossard to score Arsenal’s winning goal against Leicester City on Saturday which drew praise from manager Mikel Arteta.

Speaking in the post-match press conference,

Arsenal

 boss Mikel Arteta said:

"Sometimes you have to give someone a breather to come back with even more energy and enthusiasm. Delighted on his contract and we want to keep our best players at the club."

Speaking about the whole game, Arteta said:

“We dominated the game almost from start to finish. In general I think our play and understanding of spaces was excellent. We lacked that final pass to score more. We had the decision with the disallowed goal which was frustrating to take, but to restrict Leicester to one shot at home is great.”

The Gunners now solidify their position at the top of the Premier League with Manchester City following closely at their heels by being two points behind. However, the Gunners have a game in hand which is against Everton at home in mid-week.
