Todd Boehly is confirmed meeting with Strasbourg board

The Strasbourg board confirms having a “friendly meal” with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

On Friday, it was reported that

Chelsea

co-owner Todd Boehly was looking to buy a Ligue 1 club. Boehly’s targeted club is Strasbourg who sit 15th in the Ligue 1 table.

Strasbourg now confirm that they have had talks with Boehly in a “friendly meal” but the takeover talks are off the table.

Strasbourg

is said to be “financially stable” and Boehly wants to loan players to the Ligue 1 side to raise the profile of the club.

There are no signs of financial crisis at Strasbourg which leaves club president Marc Keller free to do what he wants and negotiate as high as he can if he wants to sell the club.

Keller called the meeting between him and Boehly as a “non-event” and a “friendly meal”.
