Napoli president talks about Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia’s transfer status
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis provides transfer updates on Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Napoli are serious contenders in both Serie A and the Champions League this season. With the Partenopei creating a 15-point gap between themselves and the second-placed Inter, many clubs are knocking on Napoli’s doors to sign their stars. However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is adamant that he wants to keep his stars.
When we are talking about Napoli’s star players, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and
Victor Osimhenare the first two names to recall. The duo has 49 goal contributions between them this season and have had an immeasurable impact on Napoli.
"These new players have proved to be reliable. The thing that I like is that this side goes beyond single players. The fact that we now have Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia, Kim [Min-jae] and other players in midfield makes means this team will last in time,”
the Napoli president told TNT Mexico.
"I am very good at making contracts, so when they [Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia] come to me, they are blocked, so keeping them here won’t be difficult. However, never say never. Sometimes there are offers you can’t refuse, so you never know. To me, we’ll see them shine for a long time.”
The pair were in action yesterday as Napoli eased past Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0. Kvaratskhelia missed a penalty but then assisted Di Lorenzo on Napoli’s second. Osimhen scored Napoli’s first as well.
