Chelsea eyeing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen for the summer window

The Blues are considering acquiring a new striker in the summer transfer window, according to reports from 90min, and they are eyeing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen as a potential signing.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

was acquired by Chelsea in the summer transfer window and although the 33-year-old has met the target three times in six matches, he is not considered as a permanent striker. The Premier League side do have Romelu Lukaku, but as per reports from 90min, Graham Potter and the club do not plan to include him in the team after his loan at Inter ends and they want to cash in on him permanently. Therefore, Chelsea are looking to find a new striker and among their options is

Victor Osimhen

.

The Nigerian has met the target four times in eight matches this season and continues his fine vein of form that helped him end the previous season with 14 goals in 27 outings. His deal with Napoli, however, runs until 2025 and Bayern Munich are said to be eyeing the Nigeria international as well.

Getting the player’s signature seems to be a difficult task so Chelsea are on the lookout for other options, too. Lille’s Jonathan David emerges as another potential striker as he replaced Osimhen in Lille in 2020 and met the back of the net nine times in 11 matches in Ligue 1 this year.

Dusan Vlahovic is another player Chelsea are keeping tabs on and should he hit the market, they would make an offer for him, but that seems unlikely as neither Juventus nor the player are willing to do that.

Chelsea also desire to acquire RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku and Josko Gvardiol, whereas West Ham’s Declan Rice is their top target for the midfield. Potter is also keen on signing Brighton’s Leandro Trossard but his team offered him a club-record deal to get him to commit his future.
