West Ham reach an agreement with Sassuolo’s Scamacca

West Ham have reached an agreement with the Sassuolo striker, with the Serie A side accepting their £35.5m offer.

Gianluca Scamacca

is set to go to London on Monday before having his medical done on Tuesday.

West Ham

and the player have reached an agreement for a five-year deal that includes an option to extend for another year.

The Hammers plan to pay £30.5m at first, with £5m in add-ons to

Sassuolo

for the player who met the target 16 times in 36 Serie A games last season. Moreover, the contract has a 10% sell-on clause for the Serie A side.

The frontman will be West Ham’s fourth signing this summer after Nayef Aguerd joined from Rennes on a deal worth £30m, Alphonse Areola made a move from PSG on a £7.75m contract, and Flynn Downes arrived from Swansee City for a fee that is undisclosed.

The Hammers were also keen on penning a contract with

Chelsea

’s Armando Broja. However, although they did not rule out signing both Broja and Scamacca, it is more likely to be one or the other rather than both.

The Irons also plan to recruit in central midfield and they made an offer for Lille’ Amadou Onana, while also considering Piotr Zielinski from Napoli.

David Moyes, the West Ham manager, is eager to strengthen his team before the start of the new season.

"We're needing to bring in more players to give us that opportuni

ty to compete,"

he told

Sky Sports
