Mahrez jokes about what he'll do now he's signed new Man City deal

has joked that he was waiting to replace his broken phone until he signed a new contract with

Manchester City

because he wanted to make sure it was worth it.

This week, the Algerian international penned a new contract extension with the Premier League champions, committing to a new agreement with the club for the next three years.

This past weekend, Mahrez was one of the players on

Pep Guardiola

's team that began their preparations for the upcoming season by traveling to the

United States

.

The image of the man, now 31 years old, was uploaded on Twitter and shows him boarding the airplane. One of his supporters commented to him after he said that he had broken his phone and could easily afford to purchase a new one.
