Sassuolo confirms negotiations over Gianluca Scamacca sale

, has confirmed that the Serie A club has been asked about the talented forward

. After a good season in Italy's top league, Scamacca, who is 23, has been linked to Arsenal as well as Serie A powerhouses Inter and AC Milan.

But Carnevali insisted that neither side had made a firm offer for his help yet. "We'd like to keep most of the team together, but there's nothing set in stone right now," the director told

"Scamacca and others have been in touch with a few clubs. Maybe the national team will get more people interested." Before joining Sassuolo at the age of 18 in 2017, Scamacco played for the youth teams of

. He was then sent on several loan periods away from the club. By the 2021–22 season, he had finally made it into the first team.

There, he was a big surprise. His 16 goals helped Sassuolo get a comfortable spot in the middle of the table. Roberto Mancini called him up for the first time for the Azzurri in September 2021. This was because of how well he played.

"I don't read this kind of stuff. "Only what happens on the field matters," the 23-year-old told reporters after Saturday's draw with Germany in the Nations League. "The clubs make up the numbers. What matters to me is the pitch and having fun."
