Galatasaray on the verge of signing with Arsenal’s Elneny

As per reports from Turkish media, Galatasaray are reaching an agreement with the Egyptian international to get his services from the Gunners.

Mohamed Elneny

has only featured 44 minutes for

Arsenal

in the Premier League this season, with players like Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Albert Sambi Lokonga and even Ainsley Maitland-Niles being ahead of him.

Last season, however, he played in 41 matches and the 29-year-old was having a spell with Besiktas the season before.

He seems to be considering a move back to the Super Lig, as

Galatasaray

are eager to acquire his services.

According to Turkish media outlet

Sporx

, signing Elneny has become a priority for Gala. The midfielder’s contract with the Premier League side is due to expire in 2022 and they are able to get a fee for the player rather than losing him on a free transfer when the season ends.

He joined the Gunners in 2016 from Swiss outfit FC Basel and has featured in 133 matches, meeting the back of the net five times.

He contributed to the 2017 FA Cup victory as well as runners-up finish in the 2019 UEFA Europa League.

If he joins Gala, he will feature alongside Egypt international Mostafa Mohamed, Africans Christian Luyindama (DR Congo), Mbaye Diagne (Senegal) and Sofiane Feghouli (Algeria).
