CSKA Moscow midfielder Vlasic joins West Ham on €30m deal

The former Everton player returns to Premier League on a long-term contract.

Following his move to CSKA Moscow in 2019,

Nikola Vlasic

quickly established himself as a crucial player for the Russian side. The former Everton midfielder completed a €30m move to West Ham on the last day of the summer transfer window.

"West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of Croatia international attacker Nikola Vlašić.

” The Hammers’ official

statement

reads.

"The talented 23-year-old arrives on a five-year deal from Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow."

Vlasic, who started his senior career at

Hajduk Split

, was moved to Premier League by Everton in 2017. The midfielder was loaned out to CSKA a year later, where he earned a permanent transfer in 2019. The 23-year-old’s return to the Premier League will provide the Hammers boss David Moyes with more creative options in midfield. Vlasic featured in 34 matches for CSKA last season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists.

This is West Ham’s third major signing this summer. The Hammers have already secured the transfers of

Kurt Zouma

and

Alphonse Areola

as they seem determined to hold their place among the Premier League's front runners.
