Karanka is not Brmingham’s boss anymore

Birmingham City boss is not going to work with the club according to the reports.

Birmingham City

boss

Aitor Karanka

, who joined the club in July 2020, is not going to be in his position anymore, according to

Sky Sport

, but it has not been confirmed that whether he resigned or is sacked.

Birmingham sits in 21st place in the Sky Bet Championship with only three wins in 19 games.

Here is what Karanka has said in the press conference after their 3-0 defeat in a home match against Bristol City:

"I know the answer for me, to keep working in the way that I am working and to keep trying to do the things I can control.

"I can't go to the pitch, I can't score goals, I can't defend, it is just to try to organise the training session as well as I can, as I am doing, to try to show them to prepare the games as well as I can and to motivate them as much as I can.”

Karanka was appointed after Pep Clotet was dismissed last summer to change the team’s situation, although he says that he is not going to quit despite his poor performance.

"In my career I never gave up and here isn't going to be the first place. The season could have been so different if we would have done our things and we had not made the mistakes we have made. Not just this game, the season could have been completely different.”

He added.

"It's always the same, you can record my press conference, you can put one day and the following Saturday and the following Saturday and the following Saturday because it is always the same."

They will have a hard job escaping the relegation as they have played four games more than the team standing in the last relegation spot on the table.
