Alphonso Davies, the Canadian defender of
Bayern Munich, says that Barcelona did not sign him. Davies, who joined Bayern Munich from the Vancouver Whitecaps, says that Barcelona could have signed him but did not due to his Canadian nationality.
Davies talked about this on the Say Less podcast:
“Barcelona actually reached out but the president said they didn’t want me. They said they didn’t want me because I was Canadian. I’m not gonna lie that kind of crushed my feelings a little bit.”
he said.
Davies was able to become one of the best left-back defenders in the world at Bayern Munich.
In his five seasons at Bayern Munich, Davies won the Bundesliga championship five times and the Champions League once.
