Chelsea and Newcastle chasing Barcelona’s Raphinha
The Brazilian winger failed to establish himself in Barcelona's starting squad upon arriving from Leeds United last summer. Now amid Barcelona’s financial struggles, Chelsea and Newcastle United emerge as potential destinations for Raphinha.
Raphinha, who joined Barcelona in a £55m deal, has scored just six goals in 32 matches for his new team. The Brazilian winger has just started seven La Liga matches. While neither of player nor the club is open to a sale, a good offer would pursue them.
Amid Barcelona's financial struggles, the Catalan club is open to selling the former Leeds United striker this summer. According to
Sport, the Premier League clubs Chelsea and Newcastle United are interested in a summer move for him.
Joan Laporta confirmed earlier that Barcelona are interested in signing a right-back, centre-back, and a forward this summer. However, the club is open to selling a forward.
Asked about Barcelona's possible recruitments in the future transfer windows, Laporta said: "A left back, a centre-back depending on the market, a striker and we'll see if a midfielder [is possible] depending on what comes out.
"Up front we are missing a piece, but we must remember that our resources are limited."
