Koulibaly dreams of Chelsea vs Napoli for the Champions League final

Chelsea beat Dortmund 2-0 on Tuesday to overturn their 1-0 defeat in the first leg and proceed to the tournament's quarter-final. Meanwhile, Napoli holds a 2-0 lead in their last-16 tie against Eintracht Frankfurt. Koulibaly dreams of a reunion in the final this season.

The centre-back left Naples after eight years in July to join Chelsea on a deal worth £33.8million (€40m), penning a four-year contract with the Blues. After proceeding to the next level with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Dortmund, Kalidou Koulibaly hopes to face his former side Napoli in the final.

"I hope to meet them as far away as possible," Koulibaly told

. "Maybe in the final in Istanbul would be better.

"We know how important Napoli is to me, but now I'm focused on my team.

"If we meet them, we will do everything to win, but I hope it is as far as possible because I also wish them to go a long way, and why not face us in the final?"

Chelsea secured their second straight victory after a run of 6-game losing strike. Currently sitting 10th in the Premier League table, the poor results raised doubts over Graham Potter's future.

"It was a bit of a difficult moment," added Koulibaly. "We knew that this game was fundamental for us; we wanted to win it at all costs.

"We played a great game, I think, and we showed the intensity we had to show. We wanted to win at all costs, and we can be happy."

Chelsea will next face Leicester City on Saturday in the Premier League.
