Klinsmann worried about USMNT as he claims they’re ‘not looking good’
The former USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann has acknowledged that USMNT are going through a crisis.
Jurgen Klinsmann has stated that USMNT are “obviously not looking good” in the wake of various scandals surrounding the players and manager Gregg Berhalter, but he also acknowledged that things will return to normal again soon.
Klinsmann’s comments come after USA’s former manager Gregg Berhalter admitted to a count of domestic abuse from back in 1991 and was subsequently fired from his position. Berhalter then seemingly alluded that the
Reynafamily blackmailed him about the incedent because they wanted his son to get more minutes in the World Cup. An investigation has since been launched by U.S. Soccer to look at the whole situation.
"It's obviously not looking good at the situation of U.S. Soccer right now from the outside,"
Klinsmann said.
"They have to figure things out, they will do that obviously over the next couple of months, they will figure things out, because the United States are going towards being the host of the next World Cup, which is super, super exciting.
He added:
"it's just sad to see [the controversy] because eventually all that we hoped from a fan perspective is that then when you go into a tournament and when you go through the tournament, that every little piece of energy is saved on the [actual games]."
USA is now being coached by interim manager Anthony Hudson who is likely to helm them in friendlies against Serbia and Colombia.
