Breaking: Sevilla confirms terminating Isco’s contract

Just four months after signing for Sevilla, the former Real Madrid midfielder terminated his contract with the Basque club on mutual consent as the sacking of Lopetegui reportedly played a key part in his decision.

Isco

joined Sevilla this summer as he was offered a first-team role by his former Real Madrid boss, Lopetegui. However, the Spanish coach was sacked in October and was replaced by Jorge Sampaoli. Discouraged by Monchi and Sampaoli, the Spanish midfielder departs

after just four months.

Sevilla's Twitter

wrote:

"The Sevilla FC and Isco Alarcon agree to terminate the contract on mutual consent

A January move to Wolverhampton Wanderers has been suggested to reunite with Lopetegui, while Juventus, Napoli, and Aston Villa are also keeping an eye on the midfielder.

Sevilla sporting director

Monchi

, earlier compared signing Isco to Maradona, saying:

“We have bet on you because we trust you a lot. We always look for players with something special, something different, like Maradona.

“We are a very tight-knit club and we like to develop an attractive game to enable players of tremendous quality to develop their football, like Ever Banega and Mudo Vazquez. I’m not comparing you with Maradona, but here we have an environment that helps the people with talent to show it.”
