Suarez refuses to apologize for the 2010 World Cup Ghana incident
Former Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez thinks Ghanaian fans need to move on from his handball against Ghana in the 2010 World Cup
In one of the most memorable World Cup moments of recent history,
Luis Suarezcleared off a sure Ghana goal with his hand and was sent off, only for Asamoah Gyan to miss the penalty for Ghana and later Ghana being eliminated on penalties after extra time.
The incident has been brought up again by
Ghanafans and the media as the two teams are set to meet again, but Luis Suarez refuses to apologize for what he did or his rambunctious celebration afterward. one reported pointed to the fact that Suarez is called the Devil in Ghana for the incident.
"I didn't miss the penalty. It's not my fault. It's 12 years ago. It's the past. I've played against [Giorgio] Chiellini too [who he bit in the 2014 World Cup], and we shook hands."
Luis Suarez said of Gyan’s missed penalty.
The two teams will clash on Friday with Ghana needing only a point to progress while
