Miguel Almiron says his form has nothing to do with Grealish comments

The Paraguayan Miguel Almiron has been one of the main reasons behind Newcastle’s resurgence this season.

Miguel Almiron has been on fine form recently, winning both the Goal of the Month and Player of the Month in October. The

Newcastle United

winger scored 6 goals in 6 matches in October and has genuinely been one of the best players of the season so far.

Almiron’s great form comes in the wake of some comments that Grealish made last season as the English midfielder suggested his team-mate Mahrez had to be subbed off in the last game of the season because he was

"playing like Almiron."

Now many have attributed Almiron’s form to the comments that Grealish made and how he angered and perhaps motivated Almiron but the Paraguay international was quick to dismiss the rumors.

“No, I don't think anything

Jack Grealish

said has got anything to do with the great form and the performances we've been showing as a group.”

Almiron told Sky Sports

"Jack is a great player and I wish him all the best, as I always do. But this success is down to work, more work and even more hard work."

Although Almiron had struggled to find his footing at Newcastle before this season, scoring only 9 in over 100 appearances for the Magpies, he has found the net 8 times in his 14 appearances this season which has propelled Newcastle to the 3rd place in the league. Grealish on the other hand, has only scored once in all competitions this season.
