Firmino is left out of the Brazil’s World Cup squad

Tite has named his 26-man squad for the World Cup with a few notable absentees, chief among them Roberto Firmino, Philip Coutinho and Arsenal’s Gabriel.

Despite Firmino’s impressive start to the season where he has scored 8 goals and assisted 4 times, Tite has chosen to go with Neymar, Jesus, Martinelli, Raphinha, Antony, Richarlison and the Real Madrid duo Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo in attack leaving the Liverpool man behind. Flamengo’s Pedro was also another attacker who was on Tite’s list.

Firmino has 55 caps to his name in which he has scored 17 times. He played for Brazil in 4 out of 5 matches during the last World Cup, scoring a goal against Mexico.  But he hasn’t been a regular for Brazil recently, possibly due to his poor form from last season. Firmino’s

teammates, Fabinho and Alisson have both been selected however.

, Philip Coutinho who has been struggling for years now, currently playing at Aston Villa, as well as Arsenal’s Gabriel who has been excellent this season barring a few defensive errors are the biggest names left out of the Brazil squad.

The final squad consists of: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City), Weverton (Palmeiras); Alex Sandro (Juventus), Alex Telles (Sevilla), Bremer (Juventus), Dani Alves (UNAM), Danilo (Juventus), Eder Militao (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Thiago Silva (Chelsea); Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Casemiro (Manchester United), Everton Ribeiro (Flamengo), Fabinho (Liverpool), Fred (Manchester United), Lucas Paqueta (West Ham); Antony (Manchester United), Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Neymar (Paris Saint-Germain), Pedro (Flamengo), Raphinha (Barcelona), Richarlison (Tottenham), Rodrygo (Real Madrid), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid).
