Lopetegui wants the Wolves to sign Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz

Although he officially begins his new role after the Arsenal fixture on November 12, Julen Lopetegui is keen to turn things at Wolves around, by using his connections in La Liga.

Currently, the

Wolves

are in the 19th place on the table with just 10 points after 13 matches. They have only won two Premier League matches this season as the former Sevilla manager is keen to turn things around at Molineux.

According to

Fichajes.net

, the former Real Madrid manager is keen on signing his former player,

Mariano Diaz

, who will be out of contract this summer.

Mariano scored 18 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances back in 2017-18, after

Real Madrid

was persuaded to activate their buy-back option. However, failing to gain Carlo Ancelotti’s trust, the former Lyon striker will be a great addition for Lopetegui at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Lopetegui was sacked with

Sevilla

in 17th position in LaLiga after a 4-1 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, making him the perfect candidate for the Wolverhampton Wanderers job. Lopetegui's first match will be away to Everton in the Premier League on 26 December.
